Potty training I don't know if she's ready

My DD is 3 tomorrow I started training her slowly last week just basically letting her have a nappy off for a while and playing next to potty. But then I was putting a nappy on for playgroup. Today she's had a nappy off most of the day and has said she has needed a wee a few times and goes to toilet but doesn't have one. Then after most of the day of her doing this she has hidden in a corner and wet herself. She has also pooed twice today too in her underwear. If she's hiding while she's doing it I suspect she knew she was supposed to go on the toilet or potty. Should I keep at it or wait a few more weeks?

I had a nightmare trying to force potty training on my first. She wasn’t daytime reliable till 3.3m. Started at 2.6m!!! If there’s no nursery rush just leave it till she’s ready.

You should keep at it. If your daughter is 3 she should be toilet trained. I wouldn’t wait any longer.

I would stop using nappies completely. Even for playgroup... Take the potty with you. My dd1 was trained at 2.5 and it took a few days to get the hang of it and rewarding with stickers to put on her potty but we didn't go back. Good luck.. I'm dreading doing again with dd2.

I think you should stop using nappies full stop as it's mixed messages.

Let her have accidents, don't punish her, it's a way to learn.

My DD speech isn't great but she's potty trained at about 26months - she kinda did it herself really as she had a tantrum about a nappy one day so I said ok you don't have to wear one.

Lots of positive reinforcement, stickers, rewards... and no punishment for accidents. Just "oh well, shall we change your clothes?"
