DD is (finally) getting there with wees I think. But despite a promising start to poos she has now regressed to pooing in her knickers. She has done several poos on the potty and the toilet with no issue whatsoever, so I don't think there's a problem as such.

How do I get her to stop pooing in her knickers?!

Chocolate buttons. I know you should never bribe with food etc etc. But with both kids at some point I have reached the end of my tether- stickers etc didn't work, but an immediate reward of a chocolate button has. (Because it is something they really want and can instantly enjoy the reward I think). After a few weeks we run out of buttons and there hasn't been a regression. Just finished the buttons with DD2 and she is still going in the toilet fine.

I'm not against bribery at all, she just doesn't seem to respond well to it. But maybe a special bag of 'poo buttons' might do the trick?

We had “poo chocolates” they were Maltesers. One for a poo.

Right, poo chocolates have done fuck all to help. Any other suggestions?

Poo goes to Pooland? If you google it it should give you the story. Basically all poos got to Pooland where they see their friends. But if you get a poo that doesn’t go in the loo, then it doesn’t get to play with it’s poo friends.

Flush the poo and say “off you go to Pooland”

It was something I read on here, and it worked.

Funnily enough, I have just downloaded that! We'll give it a whirl Grin

Take the pants off

IfYouDontImagineNothingHappens · 09/08/2018 20:37

Sorry hit reply too soon! Take them off so she can't poo in them, the sensation will be different and she may realise she needs to go more

M0reGinPlease · 09/08/2018 20:57

We did a couple of days with pants off at the beginning and she went semi-feral so I was keen not to leave them off to long!

She absolutely can do it and has taken herself off for a poo several times, then randomly she just won't and goes in her knickers.

Why does no one tell you potty training is the absolute worst stage of parenting an under 5?!

Poos are the hardest part. Takes a long while. Even a couple of years down the line you’ll get the odd poo accident.

Put toilet paper in the toilet so there's no splash.

Nicelunch25 · 09/08/2018 23:16

Liam goes poo in the toilet book worked for my non-bribery interested pant pooing son!
