Thank you

Yep worked for us but I did not follow it to the rule. We had a potty around for months before hand and I would do that again with another child. I did reassure my DD if she had an accident that it is OK because she did have a sense of shame and need it and she is still in nappies at night.

In a nut shell when you start there are no nappies or pull ups for wake time at all. She suggests if you work to do it over a bank holiday and take a day off work so you can focus on it for 4 day. It is intense but it is done quickly. For first stage you keep the child completely naked or naked from the waist down and when they start to wee you pick them up and put them in the potty and say ‘we wee in the potty’. There will be lots of accident but that is fine. You are suppose to watch them like a hawk and look for their signal that they need a wee.

Second stage when they are starting to get the hang of it is small trips out wearing clothes with the potty. No knickers though for a few weeks. They can still be naked at home if needed.

Third stage longer trips out and underwear.

The stages kind of blur together.

No promoting unless they signal or at normal times eg try for a wee, coat and shoes then we go out and before nap times.
