How To Get My Daughter Out Of Nappies.

My daughter is 2yrs 7months and if i say "you need to do a wee wee on the toilet" she will then run to the toilet and does a wee and had also done a poo quite a few times, but she doesn't tell me when she needs to go to the toilet so she's still in nappies, the problem is she's big for her age and the only nappies that fit her are Huggies Pj Pants in 4-7 years but they are even getting too tight round her legs now, and they only sell them in packs of 10 so is costing me a bomb. How do i get her to tell me when she needs the toilet? She starts nursery in September and everyone is telling me she needs to be out of nappies by then and its really stressing me out!

You just need to go for it. Nappies soak up the wee somwhile she is wearing them she will never learn that she has weed so she will never learn the warning signs that a wee is on the way.

I just dont want her to wee all over the sofas and carpet 😫😫

Second the above... take the nappies off! While the nappy is on she’s unlikely to tell you she needs a wee... she has no incentive to.
Yes there will be a few accidents but that’s par for the course really. While the weather is nice can you spend the weekend in the garden with a potty so the carpets and sofa are less likely to get a hit?
DD2 was trained at 20 months using the Oh Crap! method, we spent 2 days in the garden and by day 3 she was completely dry. I think we only ever had one carpet accident!

Like anything new she learns she has to try it out to be able to do it. She did not just wake up on day and could suddenly walk by herself. She needs to learn how to do it.
