4 year old flooding pull-ups at night.

Ds is 4 years old(5 in November). For about 18 months we had difficulties as he would only poo in a nappy mainly when asleep . Over the last couple of months he has started to poo in the toilet with more regularity and will now go there 9 times out of 10. A big part of this was putting him in pull-ups at night and a potty in his room so he could just go himself if he needed a poo and this really helps his confidence.
However the pull-ups do not cope with him weeing in them like the nappies! He is probably dry 4-5 nights a week but when he goes does massive wees which completely flood everywhere and result in huge amounts of laundry ! This week this has happened 3 times in a row! I have tried huggies (both kinds), Aldi, Pampers, wearing 2 pairs at once, nothing works. Also tried disposable cover on bed(dry-nites) but he wiggles and it get scrunched up and doesnt work! Are there any pull-ups that will hold up to wees as well as nappies or another solution? Really don't want to go back to nappies because of the poo issue!

DD does this. I put her on the toilet last thing even though she says she doesn’t need. About half the time we get a wee out of her - if we do then she doesn’t flood the bed. Some people lift for a wee during the night but I haven’t done this so not sure how that works.

Just to add I’m going down the bribing route to try to get her to have a dry nappy in the morning.
So I’m not much help really as I don’t know what will eventually work! Sorry

The school nurse helped me with this with DS 6. Give him loads to drink during the day, give him his last drink an hour before bedtime and nothing at night. Have a wee after last drink, then another one before bed.

carry child to toilet every night sit them down until they get in the habit of having a wee, you could also try ditching the pull ups and putting down bedpads over the sheet

We lifted my son when we went to bed, awake enough to wee in toilet and then back to bed. It definitely helped. Also found he was often dry all night then flooded nappy first thing in morning so tried to get him to sit on potty as soon as awake...

oh and avoid blackcurrant juices if possible, they contain something that stimulates the body to remove excess water

How does bribing work if they haven't yet started to produce the hormone that suppresses urine production at night..?

Make sure he sits down for his last wee too, empties the bladder more fully.

@titchy it wouldn’t. But in the case of our DD she doesn’t like going to the toilet so avoids it then wee’s in her pull up at night deliberately
