How do I get him to use public toilets?

Hi everyone, my son is just under three and I’ve been really lucky with how well he has taken to potty/toilet training. Very few accidents. However, he refuses to go on pretty much any other loo apart from ours or the ones at nursery.

He is small for his age and has not taken to standing up to wee yet, so we have to hold him over the loo when we’re out, as we don’t always have a child seat with us. How do you all manage when out and about? How can I encourage him? x

I took a toddler loo seat everywhere with me until dd was 4.5yo as she was scared of falling down the toilet. I was so happy to get rid of that seat!

I think this might be me too!

I was the same with my DS, he needed the seat until he was about 4.5yo, then he just didn't want it any more. Conversely, DD has never asked us to take the seat out and about with us and she's 3yo. Don't worry, he'll grow out of it! X
