So I started potty training my 3.9 year old nearly 2 weeks ago. Day 1 50% of wee/poo were happening in the toilet. Day 2 it was 75% and after that he was having one accident every other day or so and I was feeling pretty smug.
My 4.10 year old has learning difficulties and has never shown any interest in using the toilet although we have tried with no pressure to get him to use the toilet before a bath etc. My mil has been teasing him about being a baby and still in nappies which I have obviously told her not to do. He decided he wanted to try on Tuesday so dh got all enthusiastic and took him to choose some pants. He loves wearing his pants but in the last 2.5 days he has done 2 wees on the toilet and everything else on the floor, including one on the bathroom floor as he was telling me he didn't need to go.
Now my 3 year old has gone backwards and is doing only 25% of wee/poo on the toilet which is worse than the first day. It's so frustrating. I just want to put my 4 year old back in pull ups but he cried when I suggested it, even when I said he could still wear his pants as well. I don't know what school are going to say on Monday when I take him in with 5 changes of clothes and tell them he is potty training. He only has 1-1 care for an hour a day so the class ta will have to keep sorting him out every time he has an accident. She is not paid nearly enough to deal with stuff like this.
I don't know what to do. I'm spending so much time supervising toilet visits, I'm drowning in washing and I haven't left the house in 2 weeks because I can't face dealing with the constant clothes changes and wiping chairs/floors anywhere else when I'm struggling to do it at home. Dh is helping all he can but he is working long hours so it's mostly me.
