Help! I'm currently potty training my 2(almost 3) year old son. Obviously he has accidents (a lot still) some are on the sofa. I have just gone and brought plastic sheeting to protect. But help please how do I get the smell of pee out of it. I have tried every thing I can think of. And I don't really want to fork out loads from a professional clean just yet.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

If he's having a lot of accidents he might not be ready to do it yet.

Rug doctor?

Also is your son wetting in pants? Mine always wet pants at the beginning of training and had to be bare bum for about 5 days.

It's was in the start he was having loads. His doing a lot better now. If there is any accidents now it's near the potty like he hasn't got there quick enough.

I did try and put him in pants but yeh he started wetting. So his back in bare bum. I only put pants on him if we have visitors.

Wash as normal allow it to dry then wash again with warm water with fabric conditioner in it.

There's a pet spray specifically to remove urine smells that i've heard people swear by to get the smell of pee off things - try the pet section at the supermarket.

Hmm sounds like he's not ready

My 3 year old was finally ready (after several failed attempts!) and has only had one accident in 3 weeks now

Not that that's what your asking, sorry!

Kerrylou92 · 22/02/2018 12:12

Haha no it's ok, I know how it sounds. But I admit I have dropped the ball when he had these accidents. Have a 6 month old who is very demanding aswell 😂 so when my son gets the hang of it I have sort of left him to it. I now know not to do that !😂😂
