Asking to go

My DD is quite independent and has been day potty trained since she was 2 1/2. She was far easier than my DS that’s for sure. One thing that grates on my nerves is when she needs to go she al2ays says mummy can I go to the wee. I’ve always told her you can go when you need to. But if I’m in conversation or doing something she insists I stop what I’m doing to tell me she’s going to the toilet. Even if I say yeah okay she still needs my full attention. I find this very fraustrating... she never tells her father always me. It’s also fraustrating because she is independent with everything else but with this I’m not sure why 🤔

You have a 2 1/2 year old who is happy to use the toilet! And knows when she needs it! Rejoice! The 'telling' will eventually stop.

She’s actually 5, but has been toilet trained since she was 2 1/2 😊

It's unusual, granted. I imagine that she has to tell her teachers when she's going to the toilet at school, though, so perhaps just continuing the habit?

I do think she'll eventually outgrow it. Grin
