How long did you use training pants for?

DS is 3yrs 3mths. We've been using training pants for about 6 weeks. He's pretty reliably dry, would rarely have a "full" accident (maybe 2 or 3 since we started training), but tends to be a bit damp in the evening when he's tired.

Should I stop using the training pants? I would consider him trained but like the security of training pants when out and about.

Tbh, if I was using disposable pull ups. I know I'd have stopped weeks ago because I couldn't justify the expense or the waste, so part of me figures that because we already have them, they're being washed as with normal clothes and are possibly saving on washing that it's ok to continue.

I suppose I'm just afraid that I'm holding him back.

DS2 was in Pull Ups when he started nursery at 3.5, so about 1.5 years altogether, but I think we started potty training too soon. If he's reliably dry, I'd ditch them. Maybe remind him to have a wee after a drink in the evening.

There's no harm in keeping him in them. It's easier if he does wee as it's less messy ☺

codysmum absolutely, they've saved me so much washing! I'm just a bit afraid that he doesn't notice the wet though.
