Has DM pushed so much that DD has regressed?

Hi all, my DM has been pushing for my 2.5 year old to start potty training, despite me saying she's not ready. Anyway, at the weekend, DM made her start sitting on the potty while she looked after her for the day- against my wishes. A couple of days later, DD pooed in her sleep- something she hasn't done since she was a newborn! I only noticed because I went in for an extra kiss before I went to sleep. I had to wake her up and change her!

I can't understand why she's pooed in her sleep. She's not unwell, it wasn't runny. Just her normal kind of poo. Could she be regressing because she's not ready for potty training??

Anyone? Should I not worry about this? Just seems odd to suddenly poo in her sleep!

My DC isn't potty training yet as he's only 16mo but he does occasionally poop in his sleep. Does that help a little?

Maybe she dreamt she was on a potty, because of having it emphasised to her during the day.
I'd not leave her with your DM if she's going to go against your wishes.

No sitting on a potty during the day has absolutely no bearing on bowel movements at night

I doubt it. More likely too much fruit or a new food?
Don't fret.
