I read the Gina Ford Potty training in 7 days book (I don't rate her otherwise) and thought I'd give it a go.
My daughter is 2 yr 1 month exactly, she has been showing all the signs and her speech is really good and is able to communicate all her needs.
However, decided to give it a go today and I've been putting her on potty every half hour.. we've had 1 successful, 1 half and half (started going then ran to potty but didn't pull knickers down) and 3 accidents, 1 standing next to the potty but didn't make an effort to get to it then just jumped up and down in it!
Apparently if there isn't more successes than failures first day you should go back to the prep stage a bit longer. I don't know? I feel a bit pressured tbh as I'm 4 months pregnant and think I need to try and do it now! She'll be 2 and half when I have the baby. My mum and mil both with me and my partner who are 28 continuously go on about how she's ready and will be easy. She is a good girl but very stubborn, she actually cried earlier and begged to have her nappy back on
I've got some annual leave in 1 month where I'll have more than 2/3 days off with her alone. Shall I wait until then? Do you think I'm pushing it or am I being downhearted on her?
Hormonal and guilty about everything at the moment ha
any help much appreciated xx
