DD has been consistently taking her nappy off this week to wee on the floor. She has also shown a lot of interest in DS (4) using the toilet seat and dragging out the potty left next to the toilet.

Is it worth me keeping her nappy free for longer periods and sitting her on the potty before she "goes?". She is already walking and pulling up (or off!) her skirts. I don't expect her to be fully trained within a week - I simply want her to get used to the potty and she seems interested in it.

Do it! She is already showing strong signs that she gets it!! Don't hold her back!! Accidents will happen whether you try now or later..they are inevitable

I just wanted to rephrase the "don't hold her back" as I don't think it was appropriate language. (English not my first language). Apologies. All I wanted to say is that she seems.very interested and so I would.definitely follow her lead :) in my country of origin it is quite normal to have potty trained before 2 years. I'm however still not there as a parent!

If she's pulling out the potty and taking her nappy off herself, let her have a go. You will probably have a lot of accidents at this age though!
Encourage her to tell you when she's done a wee, etc.

Tessa84If they are properly ready, accidents are not inevitable. Loads of children come out of nappies with none (or very, very few) accidents.

Don't agree with any of this. I would wait.
