She really cries and screams when i change her nappy and adter a bath it's really hard to get it on her. She s started squatting after a bath to have a poo should I try a potty? Or too early? My 4 year old wont even poo in the toilet yet and still wears a nappy to poo so it's like total opposites. I dont want to scare her and have her refuses to potty train later on.

My DD started refusing a nappy at about 20 months so we trained her at 22 months. The Oh Crap potty training book has a section about using the method with younger children (she recommends 20-30 months anyway) but it might be worth a read?

I'd have the potty just there in the bathroom and you could always offer it if she's squatting and see what she does? If she really hates nappies try pull ups as the proper 'pull up' variety are coloured and look more like pants and she can help to get them on.

Offer her the opportunity to choose nappy or potty. I think it's a sign that she is starting to get ready for potty training. The short fast version isn't suitable for all children. My 19month old often likes to sit on the potty for a bit and then calmly chooses to lie down for her nappy after a while.
