DD scared to let poo/wee out on the potty

Hi all, hoping that someone here may have had a similar experience and could offer some words of wisdom as I'm really not sure what to do!

DD is 2.11 and we began potty training last week. She's been very keen to start wearing pants and was enthusiastic about the idea, and very willing to try going on the potty. So far so good...but when she is on there she just can't seem to relax enough to let anything out! Cue her holding on for hours on end which resulted in a UTI by the weekend, poor love.

The day she was seen by the doc and given antibiotics she actually had a great day in terms of the potty, we just let her run around naked from the waist down at home and she was asking for the potty and managed several wees and a poo on there! But since then she has gone right back to holding on, which just makes her miserable and I feel awful for her. Should I just shelve the whole idea for now? Or are there any strategies for helping her relax a little that people have found helpful?

Thank you!
