4 year old will only poo with a nappy on

My 4 year old won't poo in the toilet or potty because she says she doesn't want it to splash on her. How can I get her to do it in the toilet? She does wees just fine and although she never even tried havin a poo in the toilet she says she doesn't like it.

I could have written this post over 6 weeks ago. My daughter who turned 4 in February would only poo in a nappy, she was clever she could hold it in an only do it first thing in the morning or last thing at night, she was fully potty trained weeping from 3.5. I was at my wits end but things changed very quickly after I sort of relaxed.
I picked her up from nursery ( she never poos there) and we were in the library when she needed a poo, I had nothing with me, so she sat on the loo screaming for 20 minutes, we had to leave but she held it in for the 20 minute walk home then came home screamed another 20 minutes but did it on the toilet 😄so I got rid of her bedtime nappies and voila she fully potty trained herself in a day! It was heartbreaking hearing her so upset it nearly broke us both but bless her she did it and she has allergies so her poos are not always that nice but I'm glad we waited as I honestly thought she would start school and still be pooing in nappies or holding it in.
I did try bribery and threats but ultimately it was her decision as she's such a stroppy madam at times.

my youngest still wears a nappy to school and so does my second, they both cope fine, it's nothing to worry about. you only need to be worried when your 11-year-old still wets the bed.....

I'm yet to start potty training so have absolutely no idea about that I'm afraid. But if it's genuinely the thought of splashing that worries her could you put a bit of loo roll down first to stop the splash? Might help her to relax? Good luck!

DD2 was the same until a couple of weeks ago.

We bribed her with sweets.

How she can't stop

My ds (2) is now fully potty trained thanks to sweet bribes! I know sweets arent exactly brilliant but they worked!!! He had a special sweetie pot that he was only aloud sweets from after a poo. After he started pooing on the toilet frequently we just gave him them for 'big poos ' now he doesn't get any just praise. Good Luck!
