DS 2y 7mo.

Tried him nappy-free this morning and he was v pleased with himself. Right up to the point where he needed a pee and he panicked and demanded a nappy. I tried to sit him on potty but he just got distressed. So I caved.

He's obviously ready (because he knew he needed a nappy and peed as soon as it was on). But I don't want the potty to be distressing or I think he'll start refusing it.

Am I being weak-willed - do I just keep insisting no nappy? Or do I wait a bit and keep encouraging him to "use" potty whilst he's in a nappy?

I don't really know what I'm doing.

put the nappy in the potty / toilet and get him to wee on it.
