Stopping the night nappies

Dd is 2.10 years. She was toilet trained in Easter and does all business in the toilet, no problem.

She has been 99% dry in the mornings for a good few months now. She even called to us one time in the night to say she needed a wee.

Please can someone please let me know if they think we should take her out of nappies at night now? I thought she'd be in them for ages yet. She can't take her herself off to the toilet yet so I assume we take her when she asks? When could your dc take themselves off to the toilet at night?

Yes take them off, she'll be fine! My kids have all been dry at night before 3. No idea why, eldest in particular was terrible in the day.

I assume some kids have the hormone that allows night dryness unusually early just as some get it unusually late.

DD is 2.6 and has been dry in the day for a couple of months, about a week after she was dry in the day she decided she didn't want to wear nappies at night anymore either. We started getting her up to sit on the loo before we went to bed but that sort of disrupted her sleep pattern and she then woke intermittently throughout the night. We stopped that and she now only calls us to put her on the loo when she wakes and wants to go. She has her own bathroom but isn't big enough to get into the toilet (won't use a potty) and is a bit too dozy to coordinate herself to get out of her bed on her own.

Yes, I would definitely recommend taking her out of nappies at night times. My DD is also 2.10 and has been dry during the day for three, four months but I was always scared to not put a nappy on for night time even though she would always wake up dry.
Then, two weeks ago, she woke up around midnight asking for toilet. Since then I've not put a nappy on her and so far we've had no accidents. I do put her on the toilet right before sleep and it has just become a part of her bedtime routine.

With all three of mine I make them do a pee at bedtime. Then when I went to bed I'd rouse them and say it's time to go do a pee. They have to know what's going on or otherwise they wont learn to wake when needing a pee as they are still peeing asleep.

The first week I also got up at two am and took them. But stopped after that. Cut down on their fluid intake from about 6pm at first. Get two waterproof sheets for mattress and layer it waterproof sheet normal sheet, waterproof sheet and normal sheet then if they have an accident in the night you just whip the top two sheets off for less disturbance.

The best thing is to just try. Get some bed mats in case of accidents. I have a child who was not night trained until she was 6 even though she was dry in the day for years before but she's dyspraxic.

Thank you for the input. You've given me some useful tips/advice to try. I'll take her out of nappies and make sure she goes right before bed. I'll try the double layered sheets too!
