Dry at night but not daytime, eh?

DD2 is 2.9. I wanted to leave potty training until she was absolutely ready. She refused to wear pull-ups 2 weeks ago so put her into big girl pants. She's been doing okay. If we take her to the potty or toilet she'll do a wee but never asks to go. Pops still done in pants too. She's with childminder 4 days a week. I'm wondering if we should just go back to pullups for a month and try again. Bizarrely she has been bone dry at night since we started. Any ideas?

My Ds was dry at night way before he was ready to potty train-he's 3.5 now and still not quite there with the potty. But still dry at night!

So Im not sure really. If she's said she doesn't want pull ups, I'd stick with the pants, get the CM on board and have lots of changes of clothes at the ready.

At least the weather is warmer for drying all those clothes that will need washing! (Well that's what I tell myself anyway!!)

She has managed to take herself off once to the potty today. I'm hoping a good dry spell with her out in the garden will help.

I'm kind of glad to read this we are at a very similar stage with my dd. We tried a couple of months ago at 2.2 years and she would wee and poo on the potty but not tell me when she needs to go. Since then aside from two or three poo accidents the poos have all been on the potty. Probably half her wees have been on the potty/toilet and she only wees at night if she's wakes up fully. Then a week ago she refused to wear a nappy and told me she wanted to wear knickers. But she's still not telling me at all when she needs to go! We've had a couple of dry days but just because she let's me sit her on the loo every so often. I'm sure the wee accidents she has will help her learn but any other advice would be very helpful!
