Dd (3.6) is not yet potty trained. Was going to try during the Easter break (third time lucky) but she refused to wear her pants. We managed to get over that hurdle last week and she's been going great guns at nursery but point blank refusing to go at home. We've had a week of constantly mopping up pee and she's showing very little sign that she's prepared use the toilet at home. She will sometimes run to the toilet mid-pee but hasn't managed to hold on long enough to actually go fully in the toilet. We've had her sitting on the toilet for up to half an hour, nothing doing, only for her to go five minutes later.

I don't know where we're going wrong and it's driving me insane. Feel. So frustrated and like I'm failing. Please help!

Have you tried good old fashioned bribery? Chocolate button for a wee, 2 for a poo? Used this for DS (Stubborn, nothing else worked). DD I bought a new paddington bear jigsaw (she was really into them at the time) and she got a pice every time she did a wee.

Also try a timer to remind her when to go to the loo. Rather than sitting for looonnngg times on the potty (must be v dull for her and feel an age) give it a couple of minutes on the potty - if nothing happens she can get off and agree with her you will set a timer and try again - 5/10 mins. Again - she tries. If nothing in 2 mins then off to play again.

Also maybe (and maybe I should have put this first) as the nursery what method/tactics they are using - especially as it seems to work.

Stick with it. Brew
