Out&about with 2yr old and a baby

Once my 2.5yr old is potty trained, I guess for the first while if they have to go they have to go.
If I'm feeding the baby, having lunch, toilets are a bit of a walk, how do you deal with it?
When can they be expected to hold it for few minutes?

I used to just stop feeding the baby, poor thing, and head rapidly to the loos. When they are first training they can't hold it. Lots of standing in loos with baby in one arm, wiping DC1's bum with the other hand.

And just hope your lunch/trolley/shopping is still where you had to abandon it.
