Potty- basic or fancy?

Hi..
Apologies if this is a daft question. I am thinking of getting a potty for my 20 month old just to introduce the idea..
Do j just want a basic Â£5 jobby? Or is there any benefit in a fancier one? My friend has a babybjorn one.. Am happy to spend a bit more if added benefit..

Love the babybjorn cos it's easy to empty and they can help. Also it's white so you can tell (and so can they) that they've done a wee.

Don't get a blue potty!

Depends if you have the spare cash to justify it.

I find one with an insert that you can empty and rinse is better imo.

The all in one piece ones are a pain to empty without spilling over. I do have twins, so things in this house have to be super practical!

Neither, but get the babybjorn toilet seat as as goes up at front and adjusts to toilet. No cleaning potty every 5 mins then, and potty can be kicked over..

We had a couple of simple one piece ones. They were fast and easy to clean.

We were given a mamas and papas duck shaped one and it was a torture to clean and had 3 parts.

We didn't use a potty for long each time. The first two used a toilet seat insert for much longer. Next two just perched on the edge of the toilet with a double step stool to rest their feet on.

It makes things much easier when you go out if they are happy to use a normal toilet.

Buy 2 or 3 cheap ones and dot them round the house. No point spending ££££ on a poo receptacle,

We have the ikea fancy one, it's got a detachable inner bit to make emptying it easier and it cost about 5 pounds, so perfect for us! I do like the way it's easy to empty and clean.

Just make sure that they can actually fit on it. My ds was potty trained by 2.5 but was still too big for the cheap potties!

I ve got a babyjorn potty but the thing is when dd gets off it the insert sticks to her bum and then splashes everywhere!

We have a simple Pourty one, I love it. There's no nooks or crannies and it's specifically designed to pour easily straight into the toilet.
