Potty training ds, really basic sit or stand question

Sorry to ask such a basic question, but when I am potty training ds should I encourage him to stand at the potty to wee or to sit down?

I'm not sure if correct way but my Ds sat at potty, then stood when using toilet

Sit down for as long as possible
