I'm on dc3. My first two dc are boys now well past this potty training stage (dc1 10 and dc2 7). From what I remember they were around age 3 when I potty trained them and it was very easy. They were dry and clean within 3/4 days and that was that. Maybe I was lucky I don't know.

Dc3 is my first dd. She is very articulate and has great communication skills. She is 2.2. About 4 weeks ago she had yet another tantrum of "I no like it nappy" "I want my potty" so I went with it and she started wearing pants. She was great a week with all poohs on the toilet and only a couple of wee accidents when out of the house on the school run. The next week she had a tummy bug and diorrehea (sp) so she ended up back in nappies for a few days. Since then she has gone back to pants. She can toilet herself for wees with no reminders. She uses the toilet not the potty and can manage pulling down pants etc. however she no longer poohs on the toilet or potty at all. She doesn't seem to realise she's done it? Or I wonder if I was made it seem okay to do it in her pants when she was I'll looks of don't worry and never mind I can wash them etc.

So what do I do now? How do I help her to use the potty or toilet for poohs. I am asking her a lot. Looking for signals, being really positive about it but I feel fed up of washing pooey pants. Blush

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Hi, we have had a few accidents with poos recently. Like you little one my DS was great at doing both for the 1st couple of weeks in his potty bit now he either waits until his night nappy is on or does it in his pants. He is no bother with pees. When he poo in his pants I try and not make a fuss and then just tip it in the potty or toilet and remind him thats where he should be doing it. Hes only 23 months so still quite young. They all get there in the end.

Thanks. I've been doing similar so taking her to the toilet saying remember poohs need to go in the toilet just like wees etc. just don't feel like we are making any progress...
