Going back to nappies after 6 months!

Has anyone done this, or have any advice? Ds is 3 next month and we started potty training at 2 and a half. He got poos within 2 days which is why I persisted and now he is dry overnight but still wets at least once a day. I am getting so fed up with it, I just don't think he gets it. He only ever asks to go to the toilet when he needs a poo or when he has already wet a bit in his pants. Sometimes it's just a bit and sometimes he soaks through. I just don't think he knows when he needs to go but he realises when he has weed a bit and then asks to go. I just don't know what to do with him, do I just go back to nappies, get those disposable pant liners or just keep persisting?

I'd keep on, bribe him to go at regular intervals. Make sure he has plenty of water to drink.

I feel your pain my dd (also just 3) has been similar, I think we are finally getting there.

It's just so frustrating and doesn't help when some people say he should be well trained and others say he is only little still I am going to try and get him to go to the loo every 2 hours. He wets a lot more when we are at home then out and about too and I don't know if that's because he drinks more at home or he just gets lazy! I have got some underpants liners that will hopefully stop the dribbles getting to his trousers so going to give them a try

Mine is worse at home also. We had a phase where every 1.5 hours I would be shouting 'woo woo' with dd legging it .

I just tried to relax, you can't change it. And from reading on here the resistant ones aren't necessarily better later.

I suppose there is some reassurance in the fact that leaving it may not have made life any easier! I am so sick of people telling me their child 'got it' in a few days and never has accidents ect! My Ds tells me now 'it's only an accident mummy' think he May sense the frustration even though I try my best to smile and say 'next time remember to tell mummy' inside I am going aaarrrghhhh, not again! Good to know I am not alone in the struggling, can't help but think I did it wrong sometimes

My other one 'just got it' at 2.4 btw so I doubt it's anything you've done. It's personality dd2 genuinely doesnt care if she's wet. Dd1 the few times she wet herself was distraught.

That's good to know. He doesn't seem to care either. My dd will be in nappies till she is about 4 because I am not going through this again anytime soon!
