We are going to start potty training DS at the weekend. We have 2 days(3 if needed) where we can just be at home. I'm going to make a star chart with DS so he can have a star everytime he goes on to toilet/potty (he gets stickers at nursery for helping and reacts very positively so thought this might help). Also I have a timer for the first few days that we can set for every 30 mins to take him to the loo (recommended by a close friend who is a nursery teacher).

Anything else that I haven't thought of or any tips? DS is 2.4 he tells is when he is about to do a wee/poo so I'm pretty sure he's ready. I just feel so nervous!

I'm quite pleased how it's going on the whole. We had one little accident today where DS started to go and then realised so held the rest until he got on the potty which was good. He's started to tell me when he needs to go as well as when I ask. We still have only had one poo though and he hasn't been today.

I think I have got a bit more relaxed with it so not asking him so much which in turn means he's not getting fed up of being asked. I think it just takes time for them to become aware of the feelings and then realising what that means.

Don't be disheartened Ipsy I'm sure it will all come together soon.

We're on an up - nursery reckon DD's cracked it, no accidents today and a big wee in the potty, very relived we seem to be going in the right direction after a week of washing leggings every evening & drying them on radiators! Grin

Poo is the next hurdle, but apparently that can take a bit longer. I'm just pleased that DD is happier using the potty!
