My 3 year old needs nappies because he isn't potty trained yet, he's been in size 6+ for a while but he's completely outgrown them (he had one on yesterday which split immediatley) and can't possibly fit in them anymore, What nappies am I supposed to get now ?

Drynites? Does he show any interest in the potty? Keep getting him to sit on it every 15-20 mins and leave him with no nappy and trousers on during the day so he notices if/when he 'goes'

ElaineFromLondon · 28/09/2014 16:22

He doesn't seem to show much interest in the potty, if i'm honest, i'm not sure if he actually understands it's purpose or why he has to use it.

My DD was/is v tall for her age so I had this problem at just over 2! I used extra large pull ups until she potty trained (fortunately for me at 2.5 or I don't know what I would have done).

with my DS the problem is weight, he's very heavy for his age and the 6+ nappies wont fit around his waist.

Drynites will work fine we use them on our 5 year old who wees like an elephant in his sleep Wink

ElaineFromLondon · 28/09/2014 16:51

Drynites don't fit him, the 3-5 ones are too small and the 5-8 ones are too big

Could you hem the bigger size in with two strips of duck tape? A real faff I know but that's all I can think of - we used to use strong taoe on Ds1's nappy when he went through a phase of taking them off at night.

DD is 5 with ASD & still in nappies.

Nhs give us Libero size 7 which are also available to buy online here

WandaDoff · 28/09/2014 17:15

Tesco's own brand 6+ are quite big as well in emergencies.

ElaineFromLondon · 28/09/2014 17:16

I've tried a few different makes, all of which were too small.

I presume you're not trying to make the tabs meet in the middle? I have heard people saying that nappies are too small but it's just that they are trying to do them up at tightly as possible.

ElaineFromLondon · 28/09/2014 17:25

I've given up trying to make the tabs meet in the middle, there's no chance of them fitting together around his waist

The ones I linked to upthread should fit.

They are the ones used by children with SN.
