Potty Training Twins

Hi, I'm new to mumsnet and really after some advice. I have boy/girl twins who are 2 tomorrow. I have tried a trial run of potty training last week and I think my little girl may be ready but my little boy isn't, he doesn't seem to be aware that weeing on himself or the floor is wrong he just continues to wee whereas my little girl will cry. So I have decided to start training her before him but there are some questions I wanted to ask first;

Is it ok to train one twin before the other?

We have cream carpet, any advice to keep it clean after accidents?

Little girl shakes her head when I ask her to sit on the potty, is that normal? Is there anyway around this, as she tends to cry if I put her on the potty and won't willing sit on it herself with no nappy.

Do you recommend running around with no pants whilst potty training?

Any advice in general would be appreciated as I'm really struggling to get my head round this, and having both of them to do is just confusing me further.

for now I'd just get them a potty each and let them sit, play and get used to them. Not really pushing training and going at their own pace.
