From potty to toilet

Started potty training DD 4 days ago. She got it straight away. We've had 2 accidents the first day and 2 accidents the second day. Third and fourth day, no accidents. She hardly needs reminding, basically she's done really well.

I didn't want to use a potty. I wanted to go straight to the toilet but DD is terrified of sitting on it. So now I have no idea how to get her to use the toilet. We've got a toddler seat but it makes no difference. She won't let me hold her over either.

Any ideas?

Don't push its use for now. Try and demystify it be letting her flush pieces of cereal or pouring the contents of the potty away and saying 'bye bye poo' etc. She can play with the loo, under supervision, by putting food colouring down and adding acids (coke or vinegar) or alkalis (bleach) to make rainbows. When she does use the loo, let her flush when she's ready so you don't make her jump. Get some special bubblegum/ cola bottle/ Strawberry laces soap too. Oh, and chocolate buttons for after. Well done you

Thanks for replying. The food colouring idea is brilliant. My DD will love that. She's very sensitive and I don't want to do anything that will make her even more scared of the toilet.
