Which potty to buy?

2yo DD showing signs so have agreed with nursery we'll give it a go.

Which potty though? Just a regular one or something special, a seat on the toilet??!

I found it best to let my DCs pick which one they wanted as they seemed to more willing to try using it.

I bought pfb dd1 a potty that looked like a toilet which had a sensor that triggered music when they sit on it and when they did anything . She didn't so anything except sit on the seat fully clothed to hear the music. In the end I let her pick one from the shop, just a basic coloured potty about £3 which she then used.

I got a seat for the toilet at the same time, again I let her pick. Now though you can get a toilet seat which has a built in child seat which lifts up like a normal lid to make it a normal seat for adults. They're much easier than faffing about putting a child seat on when they're desperate to go, plus they can't slip.

I've found the green & White one from ikea is the best. Ds is nearly 3 & quite tall. The big standard ones we bought from tesco & boots when he was just over are small & he's never liked sitting on them.

We also bought a family toilet seat from b&q when we had the bathroom redone. It's not come into its own yet, bug I think it will.

I was also going to suggest the green and white one from ikea. Seems comfy and more importantly is very easy to clean - the green bit lifts out

We have the Baby Bjorn one. Also very easy to clean.

The cheap boots potty was the best here.

And YY to having a toilet seat from the start so they get used to using that too. We got a family toilet seat as our old one needed replacing anyway around that point.
