Potty training

Hi, I have recently tried potty training with my DS, he's just turned 3. It wasn't very successful as he couldn't understand that he needed to tell mummy when he needed to 'wee wee'. I just left him naked on the bottom half and when I asked him if he needed a wee wee he'd say yes so he'd sit on potty but not do anything. This continued for most of the morning and then when I put his pants on he peed straight away. Is this normal? Am feeling rather hopeless at the moment.??

yes it's normal at first.

you should probably calming take the underpants off and explain that we pee in the potty, repeatedly until your jaw drops off.
