Potty training and the school run

How do you do this? I'd like to start training dd2, but we have a 15/20 min nursery run each way twice a day with dd1, so how does this work? Will I need to put dd2 in a nappy? I know I could wait until the summer hols, but she's showing signs of being ready now, so I'm keen to make a start.

Personally I'd wait until the summer. Why give yourself extra stress now when the summer holidays are only a few weeks away really?

Once you start I wouldn't put a child back into nappies as it confuses them. I'd just encourage them to go before you left and hopefully they might be able to manage the school run... fingers crossed!

I would start after school on a Friday so you have a good run before Monday, by Monday have her do a wee just before you leave, sit her on a towel and bring spare clothes.

I'd start at the weekend too, my dd got potty training really quickly. Make sure your dd has a wee before you set off and you should be ok. I read somewhere that children are really only ready for potty training when they are going on average once every hour so if your dd is ready she will survive the nursery run!

Thank you, very sensible, logical advice! I got excited because she weed on the potty twice this evening, and has been telling me when she's pooed for a while, and a few times before she does the poo. I used to use cloth nappies, but have been using disposables recently for convenience, and when I tried to go back to cloth, she refused! So I'd just like to be free of nappies now, I hate how the bin fills up with them.
