potty training at 12 months?

We took DS to gp yesterday because of spots all over his legs and bum. Doc says he has sensitive skin and sweating (he had raised temp at the weekend) and the current heat is causing the rash.

She did suggest that wearing nappies won't be helping and that there's a 'window for potty training at 12-13 months.

Anyone any experience of trying this? DS turns 1 tomorrow.

No idea about potty training, but my dc1 reacted really badly to disposable nappies and had awful blistering rashes bleeding and looked so sore, I swapped her to cloth nappies at 10 months and they all disappeared. Concluded that she's allergic to some of the many chemicals in nappies. Is cloth worth a try? I never thought I'd use it but now dc1 is potty trained and dc2 (not allergic to disposible nappies) is wearing them just cause I prefer them now Grin

Thanks (and both love and fear your username). That did occur to me alright. He's always been fine in disposables but maybe the heat is triggering a reaction.
