Potty training in reverse

My son is 2:9 and has been potty trained for around 5 months both day and night. Over the last 3 weeks it seems that everything that he has been doing over the last couple of months has been moving backwards. He's started weeing and pooing in his pants and refuses to tell us when he needs to go. He has good days when he'll go for a wee no problem but is still refusing to use the toilet to poo. We have tried taking things off him, rewarding him etc (as I've seen other parents have tried) but nothing seems to work. He attends a nursery for 2 hours 3 days a week and he seemed to be fine there but this week has been having accidents.
We are at the end of our tether because he doesn't seem to care that he's soiling himself.
Any suggestions would be greatly received.

Same for me. DS 2:6 has been doing so well for weeks, but in the past week has started peeing and pooping in his pants without telling me or OH that he needs to go. Like you he's happy to sit in dirty pants. I don't know where to go from this. Today it's happened 3 times. Anyone know if this is just a phase?
