My DD (2.3) refused to wear a nappy yesterday so I decided to try potty training. She has done wees and poos on the potty before, but just ad hoc.

Yesterday she did 2 wees on the potty and wet herself once. She has a sweety for each success.

This morning I offered the potty at 7 when I got her up. She's still on there an hour later refusing to get off! Keeps saying she hasn't done a poo yet!

I have said she can have a sweetie anyway for trying but she still won't get off!

Anyone else had this? I don't know whether to insist she gets off or leave her there?

Cancel that she finally got off produced nothing grrr and is eating breakfast happily.

I'd now over explain that we don't always have poo inside us ready to come out, sometimes we have to come back later.

Thanks pirate . She's doing it again this morning. Fine all day yesterday but again this morning sat on for an hour.

I'll have a long chat with her about how it won't always work.
