Hi all, this is my first post. My lo turns 3 in June and we have been attempting potty training for the past few days.
He loves wearing his pants, but has more accidents than successes. I just don't know whether to carry on or stop for a few weeks. This has been the ideal time to try as I've had a bit of time off work.
He enjoys sitting on toilet and is now telling us when he needs to wee, but tends to not make it to loo on time. The potty is in sitting room but he sometimes prefers the toilet. Just need some advise as feeling out of my depth

Don't panic, that's my advice and was the advice to me from friends when I trained our son. He sounds like he's getting the hang of it - unfortunately it can be a messy process!! You could try a reward scheme? Chocolate buttons cracked it in our house within days! Just lots and lots of praise (and a button) when he got most of the way there and he got there eventually.

I do know parents who struggled and left their child in wet pants for a time afterwards. The child hated it so much they soon learned! Luckily I didn't have to do this. Good luck.

Hi there, thanks for replying.

I do give a malteaser for a wee and 2 for a poo, (but I think we are a way off a poo!)). But he only gets them if he makes it to potty or toilet on time.

I guess we need to keep at it then. We are out most of tomorrow do I guess I need to take a lot of changes of clothes with me.
