Need some poo help.

I think ds is gearing towards being ready for potty training but I don't really know what to do.
So far we have been sitting on the potty 3 times a day and have done both poos and weeks. He seems quite pleased with himself. He has had lots of nappy free time and has gone to sit on the pot when needed. I have tried pants once but he wet them.
Our house is on the market so it's not always appropriate to have him semi naked. I also have to go out dag walking, shopping etc so what am I meant to do then?
The biggest issue we have with him at the moment is if he has a poo in his nappy and you don't get to him quickly his hands go in his nappy and we end up with poo everywhere, this is happening most frequently when he first wakes up in the morning.
Any ideas on what to do now or how to stop the poo wiping would be most appreciated.

I think this is two different issues. It sounds like potty training is going well and you need to make the transition to him wearing pants and trousers. He probably will wet them the first few times but if you offer a bribe for wees in the potty that should help to focus his mind! ds3 gets a little treat every time he does a wee or poo on the potty, we have a bowl of assorted chocolate buttons, smarties etc that he can choose from to make it more interesting. If you absolutely have to go out, eg dog walking, school run etc, make sure he has just done a wee before you set off.

The poo thing is just curiosity. When he does one in his potty let him have a good look if he wants to but emphasise "not to touch". I do sympathise, my ds1 once squashed and smeared poo into the grille on the top of his radiator . I have vivid memories of cleaning it out with a freakin' toothbrush . Try not to react but be firm, how old is he? Would he understand if you explained about germs, poorly tummy etc?

He's 27 months. I've not told him off or made a fuss but I have told him not to put his hands in his nappy and wipe poo everywhere. He said oh with a hint of disappointment. He's never had a poorly tummy so not sure he'd understand. I usually manage to get to him before he does it in the morning but I was obviously sleeping heavily this morning and he is quiet as a mouse until he decides vhe wants us up.
