Timing with arrival of new baby

My DD is 2.3 and is starting to show a lot of interest in going to the toilet - she tells me just before she poos and quite often for wees too. She has lots of friends who are training and always says she wants big knickers. I think she's probably ready to give it a go but the trouble is I'm 34 weeks pregnant and am reluctant to start so close to the new arrival. Will waiting do any harm?

I was the same as you! 34(ish) weeks last Aug and twins were 2.3. Took a week.
If you think she's ready then try. It's not as bad as you might imagine and will make life soooooo much easier when you have baby too.

That's good to know - thank you. I think I might brave it!

Ds1 potty trained himself a week before the arrival of his little brother - not ideal timing but he was clearly ready as we didn't have many accidents beyond the first few days.

I'd give it a go but be prepared to go back to nappies if she isn't 100% ready. You really need her to be able to take herself to the potty, as you won't necessarily be able to drop everything to help her.

I'd definitely go for it. I think they offer windows if she loses interest then it will be more difficult.
