dd has been been potty trained for a month now and has either pooed in her potty or more normally in her nappy first thing in the morning like usual. the problem is she is a bit scared of pooing in her potty and only does it when she has no choice and we me championing her. I figured she would get the hang of it and haven't worried as I dont mind her going in her nappy, not least given she is young.

but she knows that nappies aren't really for using and is mostly dry after naps and is now upset to poo in her nappy too. I'm worried she is going to start holding it in.

any suggestions?
thanks

I wouldn't stop her. Let her poo in her nappy. Because you don't want her to hold it but I say to my 3 year old when I'm trying to coax her into doing something, for example "when you are a big girl, you will drink out of a big girl cup" and she seems pretty excited about being a big girl so will try. I know your daughter is younger but she understand.

Works for us. Hope this helps.
