DD will only use potty outside

(disclaimer, before I'm totally flamed for being a cruel mother who puts her child outside to use the toilet - it's summer here, the weather is lovely and the DC are jumping around the deck with next to nothing on)

We're on day 5 of potty training. DD2 (2.5) is pretty good at holding it in, not so good at actually going in the potty. She's also able to tell me when she needs to go - just reluctant to actually go.

On Sunday evening, knowing she was desperate to wee and having already say with her for ages, I decided that distraction was the way to go - and put the potty on the deck where she had been playing. Success in minutes. Since then we've had 3 wees and 1 poo (or at least she was halfway through doing it in her pants when she yelled "Mummy I want to do poo in potty", so I'm taking it as a success!)

But they've all been when the potty is on the deck. She's had three accidents yesterday at crèche (none at home) and 2 today.

Do I just keep letting her use the potty on the deck? It's perfectly private from the point of view of neighbours etc, but if seems very weird. Or do I insist on her using it outside?
