How to move on from here?

DD is on day two of potty training. She's doing really well, we've had no accidents today and she's taking herself off to the potty without help whenever she needs a wee or poo. However she has been naked from the waist down so far.

She really struggles with undressing herself. An hour ago I tried putting knickers on her but because she takes herself to the potty, doesn't ask for help etc, she just sat down and weed through them. I don't want to reverse the independent aspect by making her tell me whenever she needs to go, so where do I go from here?

Obviously if we are out the house I will ask her regularly and will get her to a toilet nd will help her undress etc, but at home what would you do?

I'm wondering whether to continue with bottoms off or go for loose pj bottoms she can pull down. My main aim is to slowly move the potty into the downstairs loo so she gets used to going into a diff room to go. Do I need to be pushing the clothing aspect? I don't want her to get upset that she's wetting her pants etc and cause problems, she's done so well so far.

I'd put loose bottoms on at first and get her to practice with pants. Or get some pants in the next size (or two) so they're looser and easier to pull up and down. It seems a waste but they'll be needed in the near future.

That's a good idea going for bigger sizes actually. These ones are from the summer and aren't too small but they're getting there. Thank you.

Ive got a similar problem. dd1 is 21mo and doesn't have accidents or wee through pants but she can't get either pants or just trousers on or off very well and gets annoyed

it is fine when we are out as she just asks me when she wants to go but at home just wants to take herself and not wipe

if she has no trousers on she wants to go often but she won't keep them on. novelty I guess and she will settle down.

I would agree with OP that looser pants/ jogging bottoms that are easier to get off would be the way to go!
