DD2 is 3.5 and has been potty trained for over a year. She wears knickers, knows what to do, seems to be fine about everything. Except that she has accidents ALL the time. At nursery they tell her to go every 30 mins and she apparently
complies happily but at home she always resists so I don't try to make her go that often. As a result she nearly always wets her knickers. It is now rare that she will tell us she needs a wee and even if she does she usually doesn't make it in time. Most of the time, we ask/tell her to go, she refuses, she wets herself.
It has become a huge battleground. We have tried sticker charts, telling her 'when you've had a wee, you can watch tv/have a drink etc', getting cross/threatening 'if you do a wee on the sofa, there'll be no more blah blah blah', encouraging, madly praising, talking about being a big girl, buying new knickers - everything!
I feel like she can do it, she just doesn't.
Has anyone experienced similar? Will she eventually get it. She's going to school next year and she can't keep having this many accidents. Are there any other strategies I could use?
Thanks.
