Hi all, my dd 2.7 was showing all the signs of being ready to potty train ( aware and telling us when doing wee's/poo's in nappy, showing interest in the toilet/potty, staying dry for periods of time without a nappy on etc...) so we began pt 2 weeks ago and she's been doing fairly well she's not telling us on her own when she needs to go yet but if I ask ' do you feel like you need to use the potty dd?' She will say yes if she needs to no if she doesn't.
So today she had her first day at nursery in her knickers and wee'd 3 times and did a poo in them
my initial feeling is that she's just not used to using the little toilets/pottys there as I did specify to her key worker that she needed reminding. Anyway I was confronted with the nursery manager basically telling me she wasn't ready and to send her in nappies next week
it really knocked me and made me question my own parenting skills she was so condescending! Like I had no idea what I was doing despite the fact my ds went there too and was potty trained at 3.4 no problem. So I thought I'd ask some lovely mn'ers what they thought; should I leave it and try again in a couple of months or persevere and tell the old boot lovely nursery manager thanks but I know better?
