2y11mo DS doesn't "get" potty training

Started today as a no pressure, see how it goes kindof day, but DS hasn't got it at all.

He happily sits on the toilet, but does nothing, and then gets off, pants are pulled up, and 5-10 minutes later, we have pee everywhere.

After 4/5 of these accidents, I've put him back in nappies as he is getting distressed.

I'm thinking he's just not ready yet? Does it click for them, or do I just have to persevere with the no nappy and accidents scenario?

He doesn't sound ready to me. I'm no expert, but I'd leave it.

Yeah, he's desperate to wear big boy pants, but he just gets upset...

Bugger. He's supposed to be going up to the "big" nursery and they prefer them trained, but it's not going to happen is it?!

Have you tried bribes? My DS is exactly the same age and didn't have a clue until last week when I offered him a chocolate button for a wee on the potty. Now there's no stopping him.
