Potty training advice

Hello all,

My 3.5 year old daughter is not potty trained and now seems to be resistant to it. She has had and continues to have issues with constipation and withholding poos on and off, and we cannot get her to sit on the potty or toilet even for wees. We have tried star charts, buying toys and putting them in view in her room and saying she can't play with them until she uses the potty but she just won't do it. I have taken her to pick pit knochers and encouraged her as much as possible. I have also allowed her many times to watch me on the toilet snd i havr even weed on the potty to show her that it isn't scary. I am a bit scared of pushing it too much in case the withholding gets worse or she starts to withhold urine!!

The only thing I haven't done is take nappies away altogether, as I am a bit nervous to as once you do that you need to be prepared for an ongoing battle and not go back. I am 7 months pregnant and last time we tried forcing the issue a few months ago I got very upset and hormonal so we backed off. Now I am getting closer to my due date and also my daughter starts preschool in about 3 weeks, so I am reluctant to take the nappies away now just as these two big life changing things are in the near future. Luckily the preschool are happy to have her join them wearing nappies. But am scared that waiting longer will make things more difficult. I just wish she would show some interest /willing in it as I didn't want to resort to forcing her and upsetting her.

Any advice would be welcome!!

Thanks,
Aimee
