How do you wipe their bottom?

DS is just toilet trained (woohoo!) but I haven't quite worked out my technique for wiping after a poo (sorry for TMI question!). Having been used to lying him down on a mat and using baby wipes to get him spotlessly clean (for nappy changes), a quick 'blind' wipe with toilet paper seems insufficient.
Should I just not worry about it? The trouble is, he does like touching his bottom Envy and I worry about what might get on his fingers
What do you do? And when do you teach them to wipe themselves? (He's nearly 3)

Stand on floor, bend over, touch their toes. Wipe.

Haven't progressed past that yet.

Getting them to touch their toes is a good idea. I've been trying to get him to bend over but it wasn't really working

Started with him bending over, now I sit on his step from the sink and get him to bend over my knee.

It's just so glamorous! Grin

Touch your toes in this household :)

Not yet progressed from bend over and touch your toes yet either! Going to just have to bite the bullet and let DS1 have a go himself though soon.
