Probably a silly question - small willy and wee fountain?

Sorry - probably a stupid thing to ask, but how do I get DS to pee when his willy is on the small side and doesn't point down when he's sat on the potty/loo?

We're starting to potty train soon, and short of training him to lean right forward, I don't see how the pee is going to actually go in the loo! Straight forward all over me and the floor, yes, fire hose stylee, but down? Hmm...

I had to strip ds from the waist down and get him to sit with wide legs on the toilet so he could press his willy downwards to get the pee to go in the toilet. He used to stand to pee in the potty and I held the potty up under his willy so it wouldnt go everywhere

Haha! I don't think it's a small willy problem, just a small boy problem!

You have to teach them to hold it down. Or you can go straight for standing-up wees and encourage aim by putting a ping pong ball in the toilet (floats so won't flush) or cheerios are a good one. I took a little pot of them everywhere we went!

Doh, I hadn't thought about getting him to hold it down! Good plan Batman.
Standing might well work too, will get some Cheerios ASAP.

I really was stumped tho, cos every time he's sat on the potty or loo his willy was pointing straight out! Most of his friends are starting to potty train now but are rather 'longer', so no fountain issues.
