My little boy is 2y8m and we have had some issues regarding potty training. He has been on the potty at his childminders on a few occasions . At home, I tried last half term and he flatly refused to sit on the potty. He wet himself 3 times without seemingly knowing what he was doing. He seems very negative about the whole thing. Is it best to just leave it for a while or try again and risk a 2nd failure?

We had similar problems with our DS when we tried a few times when he was 2yrs 4-6 mths. We knew he could control it but either held it in for ages or had accidents and laughed about them! We gave up after few sessions and waited until the summer holidays, when there's less going on, and he's been great! We've been doing it full-on for a week (pull ups at night) as I just took all the nappies away and he's only had two accidents, one of which was when he fell asleep on the sofa.
He's just turned 3.

It might be best to wait a bit and try again. Good luck!

Thanks. Good to know I'm not the only one!
