How long to keep trying?

This is the second attempt at potty training DS2 (3). Yesterday (day 1) he got a tiny amount of pee in the potty, but other than that had accidents all day. He would sit on the potty, say he doesn't have anything to go in it and then have an accident minutes later. Is this normal or is it a sign he's not ready?

Day 2 and nothing in the potty yet, just 3 accidents. I'm slowly going crazy...

I have exactly the same question...! This is day 6 of my first attempt and also wondering whether this is a sign she's not ready...

I'd give it a fortnight

dd1 was totally trained in a about a week for wees, two weeks for poos, but it took until about day 5 to get anything in the potty. after that it clicked, and we got more in the potty than out.

I'm starting dd2 on Sunday, and we've agreed on a fortnight's trial.
