We've only just started potty training last week and its going fairly well with just 1-2 accidents a day and most wees and poos making it in the potty. But this is solely due to my prompting. I notice him making poo noises and grabbing his crotch and then it's mad dash to the potty. He's 2.4 months but very articulate. Do I just keep going with the prompting?? How do I get him to say he needs to go?

Just marking my place as my Dd 2.8 is exactly the same!

My DS2 is 2.7. We attempted potty training a couple of months ago. Failed miserably. I'm in no hurry. We'll probably have another go in August. But, I think it is perfectly normal not to really be ready until 3yrs. My DS1 didn't kick it until he was almost 4. One day it clicked and he never looked back.

And, I think you make an awful lot more work for yourself if you try to potty train before he/she is ready.
